FCSC Diploma in Official Statistics
The FCSC Diploma in Official Statistics is being developed by CLODE Consultants in consultation with FCSC and in partnership with NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) University of Lisbon in Portugal.
CLODE Consultants is the only UAE company specialising exclusively in official statistics, and officially the first corporate member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) in the Gulf region.
The Diploma has been designed to be delivered by world class academics and statistical experts in order to meet the current and future needs of official statisticians in the UAE. It is also relevant to data providers and users of official statistics in the private and wider public sector.
The Diploma programme includes a set of certified courses in Official Statistics, each one with the duration of three days, and including a certified exam. All the courses are certified by NOVA IMS with regard to its programme, teaching methods and trainers.
At the end of each course, FCSC and NOVA IMS would issue an attendance certificate for all trainees who have attended the course and also a certificate of successful completion if trainees are approved in the certified exam.
Internationally recognised Certification
The Certification of professional competencies is implemented through a set of Certified Profiles that correspond to the professional recognition by NOVA IMS that someone fulfils all the required competencies to have a certain role in the world of official statistics.
A Diploma of Certified Competencies can be obtained by the successful completion (approval in the certified exam) of a set of required certified courses that constitute the core competencies for each profile (please see below the list of certified courses required for each professional profile).
By successfully completing all the required certified courses of a certain professional profile, the trainee would earn a professional recognition diploma (PRD) issued jointly by FCSC and NOVA IMS.
Each PDR would recognise that he/she has developed a set of skills that qualify him/her in:
• Fundamentals of official statistics
• Data and field management
• Data analytics
• Data science
• Applied courses
In the last profile, trainees decide on four out of six units to undertake. By successfully completing the five profiles, the trainee will obtain the overall FCSC Diploma in Official Statistics.
